- 1970 - Craig Parker, who would play Haldir of Lórien and provide the voice of Gothmog in The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy, is born.
- 1995 - Robert Stephens, who voiced Aragorn in the radio series of The Lord of the Rings, dies.
- 2008: Fantasy, Myth and the Measure of Truth: Tales of Pullman, Lewis, Tolkien, MacDonald and Hoffmann is published.
