- 1955 - J.R.R. Tolkien writes a letter to Derrick Parnum.
- 1956 - J.R.R. Tolkien examines Brian Miller's thesis on the Middle English Dame Sirith.
- 1966 - J.R.R. Tolkien is interviewed for the article "The Hobbit-forming World of J.R.R. Tolkien".
- 2006 - The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II is released on PC and Xbox 360.
In Arda
- T.A. 3019:
- Frodo, Sam and Gollum come to the end of the Dead Marshes.
- Gandalf comes to Edoras and heals Théoden. Éomer is released and Théoden holds his sword again.
- Wormtongue is expelled and later seen leading Orcs northward.
