37 Duchess Road in Edgbaston, was the home of J.R.R. Tolkien and his brother Hilary from 1908 to 1909. They were let a room by a Mrs. Faulkner. Duchess Road is behind the Birmingham Oratory. It was at this time that Tolkien first met Edith Bratt.[1]
