Andor or Yôzâyan in Adûnaic,[1] was a name for the island of Elenna or Númenor, meaning 'The Land of Gift'.[2]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name is Quenya and contains the elements anna "gift" + dor "land".[3]

Similarly, the native name Yôzâyan seems to contain the Adûnaic word zâyan "land".[4]
