Aranuir (T.A. 2084[1] - 2247,[2] died aged 163) was the third of the Chieftains of the Dúnedain, following the death of his father, Arahael, in 2177.

History

Etymology

Aranuir's name is Sindarin, and although the etymology is uncertain, it probably means "Eternal King", coming from the prefix aran meaning "king", and uir meaning "eternity".
