Astron, was the fourth month of the year according to the Shire Calendar, approximately equivalent to modern April. This month was called Chithing in Bree and the Eastfarthing.[1]

Etymology

The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for the Easter, ēastre.[2] The actual name for April was ēastermōnaþ.
