Astron or Chithing in Bree, was the fourth month of the year according to the Shire Calendar, approximately equivalent to modern April.[1]
Etymology
The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for the Easter, ēastre.[2] The actual name for April was ēastermōnaþ
Chithing represents ciðing "germinating".[3]
