Axantur was the third child of Nolondil, a member of the royal line of Númenor. His cousin was Tar-Elendil, the fourth King of Númenor. We know almost nothing of Axantur's life, but his descendants would return to the royal family: his great-grandson Hallacar married Tar-Ancalimë, the first Ruling Queen.[1]

Etymology

Axantur is a Quenya name. Its meaning is not glossed, but Paul Stracks suggests it means "Master of Law", being a combination of axan ("law, rule, commandment") + tur ("master, lord").[2]
