Disaster of the Gladden Fields

The Battle of Gladden Fields was a massacre of Isildur's personal guard. Only two survived, one of which was the esquire of Isildur which brought the shards of Narsil to Rivendall. During the last stand, Isildur put on the One Ring and tried to swim the Anduin River but, at the last second, the Ring abandoned him, and orcs killed him.
