Beleg (T.A. 811[1] - T.A. 1029,[2] died aged 218) was the second king of Arthedain.
History
Beleg inherited the throne from his father, the founder of the kingdom, Amlaith of Fornost, in T.A. 946.
Beleg ruled Arthedain for eighty-three years, and was succeeded by his son Mallor upon his death in 1029.[2]
Etymology
His name means "great' or "large",[3] which may be a reference to his stature (although he may simply be named after the famous Elf of the First Age who shared this name, Beleg Strongbow[4]).
