bereth is Sindarin for 'queen' or 'spouse'.

Etymology

From OS barathi (the -i causing umlaut of a to e before disappearing).[1], PQ barathî, root BARATH.[2]

It is unrelated to root BERÉTH "beech, birch". Also, it doesn't contain the feminine ending -eth.
