Conselho Branco, Sociedade Tolkien ("The White Council, Tolkien Society") is a Brazilian Tolkien Society. It was founded on September 7, 2000 in São Paulo as Sociedade de Tolkien Brasileira (STB). However, as another association, The Brazilian Tolkien Society (BTS), was founded in December in the same year and claimed the rights to their name, STB quickly changed its name to Conselho Branco.[1]

As of 2001, the Society had around 800 members.[2] Conselho Branco has Smials in Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Salvador and Florianópolis.
