Deirdre Levinson 20 December 1956 is a letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to his student Deirdre Levinson, written on 20 December 1956.[1]

  • Publication: A description of the letter was included in Bonhams Books, Maps and Manuscripts 23 March 2004.[2]
  • Subject: Greetings (likely for Christmas). Tolkien asks if she would like anything as a token or gift.[2][1]
  • Description: Two-page lettercard. The front of the card shows a four line quote from the Crist of Cynewulf,[2] written in Anglo-Saxon script.[3]
