Douglas Clark Kenney (December 10, 1947- August 29, 1980) is the co-author of Bored of the Rings. He was a creative mastermind at, and a co-founder of National Lampoon. While he and fellow collegiate Henry Beard were at Harvard, they both wrote for the Harvard Lampoon. They both collectively wrote the unlicensed parody of the Lord of the Rings saga, Bored of the Rings. It was an instant bestseller. Kenney himself died falling of a cliff in Hawaii in the year of 1980.
