Ecthelion I (Third Age 2600[1]2698,[2] aged 98 years) was the seventeenth Ruling Steward of Gondor.

History

He succeeded his father Orodreth at his death in T.A. 2685. He rebuilt the White Tower in Minas Tirith, which afterwards carried his name.

Ecthelion had no children. He was followed by his cousin Egalmoth, the grandson of Orodreth's sister Morwen, at his death in 2698.[1]
