Evendim was a Hobbitish name to refer to the dusk of the evening known to the Elves as aduial or undómë.[1]

It was used to refer to the Hills and Lake around Annúminas in western Arnor.[2]

Etymology

The name is composed by an element for "evening", and dim which refers to dusk/gloaming.[3]

Portrayal in adaptations

2007: The Lord of the Rings Online:

Evendim was a region of Eriador with Lake Evendim dominating most of the map. On the southern coast of the lake lies Annúminas. Oatbarton lies to the very south on the road to The Shire. Along the south-eastern side lay the Brandywine River. The lake was watched over by the spirit Gwindeth, the Blue Lady of Nenuial, and the surrounding Arnorian ruins were preserved by a faction of Rangers known as the Wardens of Annúminas.
