Tolman ("Tom") Cotton Senior (Third Age 2941 – Fourth Age 19, aged 99 years) was a respected Hobbit of the Shire, who played an important part in rallying the Shire-hobbits during the last days of the War of the Ring. He became Sam Gamgee's father-in-law through his daughter Rose. Other children of Tom and Lily Cotton were Tolman Jr., Wilcome ("Jolly"), Bowman ("Nick") and Carl ("Nibs").
