Findis was a Noldorin Elf, the first child and daughter of Finwë, the King of the Noldor and Indis, his second wife. Findis' name is a combination of the names of her parents.
History
During the Exile of the Noldor she remained with Indis and her younger brother Finarfin in Valinor, where she apparently dwelt ever since.[1]
Etymology
Her name seems to be a combination of her parents' names and obviously means "skilled woman". See Finwë and Indis.[source?]
