Morgoth sends a force to Brithombar and Eglarest which are subsequently destroyed, and Barad Nimras is cast down.^[2]
Círdan, Gil-galad and other survivors retreat to the Isle of Balar but keep a base at the Mouths of Sirion.^[3]
Círdan builds seven ships and Turgon sends them Valinor to ask for help. All are lost save Voronwë, who is washed ashore in Nevrast.^[2]
