Forlond

Forlond was a harbour that lay on the northern shore of the Gulf of Lhûn, in the Elvish land of Forlindon. It had an equivalent on the southern shore: the Harlond.
Forlond was located some two hundred miles to the northwest of the Grey Havens, at the mouth of the Gulf of Lhûn.[1]
When the ships of the Gondorian general Eärnur arrived in Lindon during the Angmar War, it is told that they filled the Forlond, Harlond and the Grey Havens.[2]
Etymology
According to Robert Foster, Forlond is a Sindarin name meaning "north-haven".[3]
The name used by Tolkien on an early map was Forlorn.[4]
