Tolkien Gateway:Meetings

In 2006, Hyarion suggested that the regular editors of this site meet on the IRC network at the same time to discuss the site. I think this is an excellent idea, especially considering the large amount of activity on the site at the moment. The only issue which we need to resolve is when to have these meetings, it's going to be difficult to have a time which everybody will be happy with. If you are interested in joining this meeting then please state so below, and most importantly please state the time zone you're in. Thanks!-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  19:07, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

  • My free hours are not much but it's a good idea Sage 18:22, 7 August 2008 (EDT)
  • I'd love to be in on this! I'm on the east coast of the US so EDT time zone. Ælfwine228 18:35, 7 August 2008 (EDT)
  • I think weekends will be our best bet, I'm on Pacific Time. --Hyarion 18:53, 7 August 2008 (EDT)
  • I know I'm not around as much as I used to, but I will try to make it to meetings when I can. My time zone is central. --Dwarf Lord 22:34, 7 August 2008 (EDT)
  • I think it's a great idea. I haven't been around much on the IRC lately, since I had some lack of sleep issues: I only ever catch Hyarion between 20:00 and 23:00 (CET). A weekly meeting would be perfect, though perhaps a bit cabal-y. -- Ederchil 02:20, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Eastern European Time. Once per week (-end) works for me. ~~ Þelma 03:59, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Seems like a reasonable idea to me. I use IRC chat sometimes, but you can't always find the person you're looking for. Weekends would work better for me, particularly Sat. night. I'm in the Eastern US time zone.--Theoden1 10:58, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
  • I use a computer in the business center of my apt. complex, and the lock the place down whenever they feel like it, so I am afraid until I get internet into my place, my attendance will be iffy. Im in Mountain Time by the way.--Quidon88 17:48, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
  • Comment: We can always use swatch internet time :P Sage 19:05, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
  • As with Dwarf Lord, I have been around much recently and I come and go rather intermittently, but weekends would definitely be the best option for me, and I'm in GMT. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 07:43, 10 August 2008 (EDT)

Proposed Meeting Time

Ok, I think Sunday is the best day for most people here and most people don't work on Sundays, so let's go with that. Below is a proposal of times to have the meeting, if you know you can't make it, or have any suggestions then make sure you let us know.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  13:48, 10 August 2008 (EDT)

PDT (PST + 1) MDT (MST + 1) CDT (CST + 1) EDT (EST + 1) BST (GMT + 1) CED (CET + 1) EED (EET +1)
12pm 1pm 2pm 3pm 8pm 9pm 10pm
Let's see, CED is "Central European Timezone - Daylight Savings Time"? 21:00 sounds fair game to me. -- Ederchil 15:46, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
