Did Hellboy II movie writer Mike Mignola and/or director Guillermo Del Toro have a more contemporary model for their Prince Nuada than Irish mythology? Was their fierce and tragic elf inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s character from The Silmarillion, Fëanor? The parallels are numerous and striking. My analysis can be read at: LINK REMOVED
