Fourth Age 61

Fourth Age 61 (abbreviated to Fo.A. 61 or F.O.) is the 61st year of the Sun of the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Unless otherwise stated, Tolkien Gateway follows Shire usage in Appendix B for reckoning Fourth Age years: Fourth Age 61 was also known as S.R. 1482 in Shire-reckoning.

Midyear's Day
- Rose Cotton, wife of Samwise Gamgee, dies.[1]

Later
- Samwise comes to the Tower Hills and gives the Red Book of Westmarch to Elanor. Samwise leaves westwards. According to tradition of the Fairbairn, he went to the Grey Havens to pass over the Sea and into the Uttermost West, last of the Ring-bearers.[1]
