Fran Walsh
Frances Walsh (January 10, 1959) is a New Zealand screenwriter and producer. She is the long term partner of Peter Jackson, who directed The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. She, Jackson, and Philippa Boyens are credited with writing the screenplays for all three films. She also composed two songs for The Return of the King, "Into the West" and "A Shadow Lies Between Us".
Walsh received three Academy Awards related to The Return of the King: Adapted Screenplay, Original Score, and Music (Song), and is a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
