galadh

galadh (or galað) is a Sindarin noun for "tree".[1][2][3] A galadh signifies a "thick, dense & branching" tree, like oaks and beeches (compare orn "tall tree", e.g. birch and ash).[3]
Etymology
From Primitive Quendian galadā, derived from root GALA.[3]
Although the form galadh is similar to Silvan galad ("tree"), it should not be confused with Sindarin galad ("radiance").[1][2]
