Gamwich was a village in the Shire.
The original home town of the Gammidge Family (later Gamgee) and source of Hamfast Gamwich's chosen surname, the town was also known for its own rope-making.
Gamwich is "translated" from Hobbitish Galabas
In The Atlas of Middle-earth, Karen Fonstad put its location near the borders of the Westfarthing, but this is only speculation.
