Gamwich

Gamwich was a village in the Shire.

The original home town of the Gammidge Family (later Gamgee) and source of Hamfast Gamwich's chosen surname, the town was also known for its own rope-making.^[1]

Gamwich is "translated" from Hobbitish Galabas^[2]

In The Atlas of Middle-earth, Karen Fonstad put its location near the borders of the Westfarthing, but this is only speculation.^[3]
