Hador (Third Age 22452395, aged 150 years) was the seventh Ruling Steward of Gondor.

History

Hador was named for a great hero of the First Age, Hador Lórindol, the ancient Lord of Dor-lómin. His rule occurred during the time of the Watchful Peace (T.A. 2063-2460) so Gondor enjoyed peace throughout his reign.[1]

On the three hundredth anniversary of the Stewards' Reckoning, the calendar introduced by his ancestor Mardil Voronwë, Hador added an extra day to the year T.A. 2360. This was done to reduce the millennial deficit, thus keeping the calendar in synchronization with the seasons.[2]

Hador ruled Gondor for one hundred and seventeen years, and was succeeded by his son Barahir.[3] Hador was the last Gondorian to live 150 years and after his time the life-span of those with Númenórean blood waned more rapidly.[4]
