Halfred Gamgee was a Hobbit of the Shire.
History
Halfred was the second son of Hamfast Gamgee. He moved to the Northfarthing.[1]
Etymology
The name comes from Old English healfrēad "half-red, reddish" or from healfrǣd "half counsel".[2]
