Halimath or Harvestmath in Bree, was the nineth month of the Shire Calendar, following Wedmath and approximately equivalent to modern September. In fact, it ran from modern 23 August to 21 September in a normal year.

Etymology

The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for September, hāliġmōnaþ meaning "holy month" (referring to pagan sacrifices).[1][2]
