Hamfast of Gamwich was a Hobbit of the Shire.
History
Hamfast lived in Gamwich. He was the father of Wiseman, who moved to Tighfield.[1]
Etymology
The name Hamfast comes from Old English hámfæst, meaning "stay-at-home". It was a translation of Westron Ranugad.[2]
