Hob "Old Gammidgy" Gammidge was a Hobbit of the Shire.
History
Hob was the son of Wiseman Gamwich. He made his living as a roper in Tighfield,[1] a tradition which was passed along to his son Hobson and his grandson, Andy, who adopted the surname Roper.
Hob was married to Rowan, the daughter of Holman the Greenhanded. Their son Hobson was born in S.R. 1285.[2]
