Gail McIntosh - Leaflock

Leaflock, called Finglas in Sindarin, was one of the Ents of Fangorn Forest. According to Treebeard, Leaflock had become tired, sometimes sleeping through entire seasons, and tree-like with a covering of leafy hair. Finglas, Fladrif, and Fangorn, were the oldest of the Ents of Fangorn Forest.[1]

Etymology

The name Finglas is composed by the two elements fing/find "lock of hair" and las "leaf".[source?]

The element lock in Leaflock here has the meaning of "hair" since it is a translation of his Sindarin name.[2]

Portrayal in adaptations

2012: The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan:

Leaflock is found in the North-Western part of the Fangorn Forest, near the borders of Rohan.
