Lord Edward Christian David Gascoyne-Cecil (April 9, 1902 – January 1, 1986), was an English aristocrat, literary scholar, biographer and academic. He was also a fellow Inkling with J.R.R. Tolkien. His title was a courtesy title: he was a younger son of the 4th Marquess of Salisbury.
