Miaulë was the name of Tevildo's cook according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name Miaulë, described by Christopher Tolkien as "engagingly Elvish-feline" (together with Miaugion and Meoita),[2] is according to Patrick H. Wynne and Christopher Gilson likely cognate with Gnomish miaulin ("she-cat").[3]
