Nolondil was the third son and youngest child of Vardamir Nólimon, heir to Elros Tar-Minyatur, first King of Númenor. His eldest brother took up the Sceptre as Tar-Amandil. Nolondil had three children: one daughter, Yávien, and two sons, Oromendil and Axantur.[1]

Etymology

Nolondil means "Devoted to Knowledge" in Quenya (from ñólë = "lore, knowledge", -ndil = "friend, lover, devoted to").
