The North East Tolkien Society, formerly known as the New York Tolkien Society, and also known as Heren Istarion, is the largest American Smial of The Tolkien Society. The main force behind Heren Istarion are Anthony Burdge and his wife Jessica Burke. It is semi-dormant since 2009.

The smial is located on Staten Island, New York. They published its own calendars in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The 2011 Heren Istarion calendar was available for pre-order but is unclear whether it was eventually released.
