Rick Porras

Richard Porras (born May 7th, 1969) is an American producer who co-produced The Lord of the Rings (film series).

Life[edit | edit source]

He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Stanford University, graduating in 1988 with a degree in History. Porras then became a Personal Assistant for Robert Zemeckis, and first worked with Peter Jackson on The Frighteners. Porras gradually rose in the film world, and in May 1998, he went to New Zealand to co-produce Peter Jackson's effort[1].

Roles[edit | edit source]

He was Andy Serkis's stand-in in The Fellowship of the Ring and played a Corsair of Umbar in The Return of the King. Porras was also an uncredited second-unit director in The Fellowship of the Ring.
