Rudigar Bolger was a member of the Bolger Family, who married Belba Baggins. Belba was the younger sister of Bilbo Baggins' father Bungo, and so through his wedding, Rudigar became one of the Bilbo's uncles. He was the great-grandfather of "Fatty" Bolger.

Etymology

The name contains hrod "fame" and gar "spear"[1].
