Sandheaver was a common family name among the Bree-hobbits.[1]

Etymology

The etymology of the name is not explained, but obviously it contains sand and heave, referring to someone who lifts and carries sand. If so, it possibly refers to the process of burrowing a Hobbit-hole, such one of those on the slopes of the Bree-hill.
