Sarah Downey is currently an associate professor at California University of Pennsylvania. Her thesis, and much of her later work, was on Saint Guthlac, and articles on him are her sole contribution to the J.R.R. Tolkien Encyclopedia. She has also written an article for Mythlore, exploring reflections of medieval allegorical texts in the character of Galadriel.
