Some Contributions to Middle-English Lexicography is the title of an essay by J.R.R. Tolkien. In Part I Tolkien discusses aspects of a variety of Middle English words and their Modern English meanings. Part II consists of a series of notes on the glossary to the Early English Text Society Edition of Hali Meiðhad.[1]

The essay was first published in The Review of English Studies, Vol. 1 No. 2 (April 1925), and was reprinted in The Review of English Studies, Vol. 1 (1969).
