I'm thinking that we one day need some article on the Arthurian influence on the writings of JRRT. What would be a good title for such an article? "King Arthur"? "Arthurian influence"? Let me know if you have any ideas.--Morgan 19:28, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Do we have an article on influences already? If so, we could do "BLAINFLUENCESBLA/Arthurian" perhaps? --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 20:44, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I would go for King Arthur. --Amroth 20:47, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just noting a title used on WP: Matter of Britain (and used in our article on Westernesse).--Morgan 17:29, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I was going to suggest "Matter of Britain"! I think we should have a "J.R.R. Tolkien/Influences" article in which Matter of Britain is a healthy portion. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 17:33, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, the idea about "J.R.R: Tolkien/Influences" is good. Since the issue is complicated (just take a look at J.R.R. Tolkien's inspirations/notes and J.R.R. Tolkien's inspirations), perhaps we should limit the article to such influences which were explicitly influential on Tolkien. The question is also: should the article include all kind of influences - both "biographical" and literary, etc? --Morgan 17:38, 12 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, let's either go for "J.R.R. Tolkien/Influences" or "J.R.R. Tolkien's influences" with the aim of moving the worth-while content form the above two articles into it; any influence recognised by Tolkien himself or by a reputable scholar is worthy of inclusion, I think. Perhaps split it into three: "Personal Experiences", "Literary Influences" and "Artistic Influences" (for that I'm thinking things like the Josef Madlener image). --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 13:56, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
