I think all the content of this page is already there on the Saruman page, so what to do with this one?--Shivam (Talk /Contribs/Edits) 14:07, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm in favor of keeping this article and replacing the content on Saruman with a link here. We have quite a few articles for other Quenya names and the Saruman article is already fairly long, especially on mobile. I think from the visitor's perspective, if they search Google or TG for a particular Quenya word, it's a better experience to be taken directly to the article for the word, as long as the article makes it obvious who the main character is. That being said it looks like Mithrandir and Olorin were merged into [Gandalf/Names] so there is not a 100% consensus yet. There is still a bit of expansion needed for this article, for instance I'd like to see a pronunciation audio file added. That's just my thoughts though. --Hyarion (talk) 14:47, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay, If we are keeping it, it needs more detail. Where do we get the pronunciation audio file?--Shivam (Talk /Contribs/Edits) 01:42, 25 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
According to Mith, a policy was decided years ago: a character's other names should redirect to the character's article; unless a name is shared by others. To make this policy work correctly, I created the "Other names" section, so the info about their etymology can be properly disglossed there too. We can include the pronuntiation audios there too. Curumo should redirect to Saruman, this is but a lose remnant from when the wiki had separated articles for everything. Gandalf's names are just a mess. --LorenzoCB (talk) 15:45, 25 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think it’s just too complicated having an extra page. ~~~~ Angol (talk) 16:23, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
