Talk:Frodo Baggins

It may be a matter of some interest that Frodo never actually killed anything in the course of the Lord of the Rings. He did, however, stand up to fight against some formidable adversaries. He foolishly attempted to fight the Nazgul at Weathertop, and he stabbed a troll in the foot in Moria to keep it from forcing open a door.

Frodo was wounded several times in the Lord of the Rings. The first came when he tried to fight the Nazgul at Weathertop and was stabbed with a Morgul blade. He was later knocked out by an orc's thrown spear in Moria, but the mithril armor Bilbo had given him saved his life. He was poisoned by Shelob in the pass of Cirith Ungol and later questioned by orcs in the tower. Finally, Gollum bit of his finger to obtain the ring as they struggled inside Mount Doom.

So are you saying this information should be included in the article? Whether you are or not, I think it should. All the articles on the four hobbits (Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin) are terribly inadequate. I should do some work on them (I have done some on Merry, but didn't finish), though I prefer to work on articles concerning the First Age and elvish tongues. . . Earendilyon might be willing. . . Anyway, I'll try and get to them soon. --Narfil Palùrfalas 18:08, 10 October 2006 (EDT)
That was the general idea, but I like to let the original author know before I start editing the page. --Ted C 10:26, 11 October 2006 (EDT)
I could be wrong, but I think Hyarion copy-pasted the original from Wikipedia. --Narfil Palùrfalas 11:02, 11 October 2006 (EDT)
I just edited some of the Frodo Baggins page, but it's far from finished. I didn't actually add or take away any information, just changed the writing of a few parts. J can go over it in more detail later . . . it would be actually be nice to let the original author know, but I'm not sure how to do that. Where can I find out who first created/wrote a page? --Thingol (talk) 02:27, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Frodo was essentially robbed in the recent movie adaptations? In the books, he stood up to the Barrow Wights, the Nazgul, a troll, and Shelob, but in the movies he essentially ran away from everything. He was turned into a damsel in distress (with perpetual slow-motion near-death sequences). --Ted C 17:06, 11 October 2006 (EDT)

Splitting Off History[edit source]

In rewriting this article, I have found that since Frodo is practically the main character of The Lord of the Rings, his "History" section will be enormous. Should we create a main article for that, say, "History of Frodo Baggins[former link]," and link to it in the article to prevent this one from being overcluttered? --Narfil Palùrfalas 11:14, 22 January 2008 (EST)

I'd say that is probably for the best. I'd prefer it if our articles didn't get extremely lengthy. --Hyarion 12:42, 22 January 2008 (EST)

Main pic[edit source]

How about changing the main pic to Jenny Dolfen's excellent illustration? Anyone disagrees? --Morgan 13:37, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yes, I agree. What do you think about the size of Frodo's feet in the picture?-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  14:33, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is this a trick question? :-) --Morgan 14:50, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No!-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  17:24, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, they look perfectly fine to me.--Morgan 17:26, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
