Infobox image change?[edit source]

Does anyone else think the infobox image should be changed (possibly Anna Kulisz’s illustration?)I like the current image, but I feel like it doesn’t draw sufficient attention to the subject of the article. —Holdwine Meriadoc (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 21:53, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I feel the current is too crowded, so I support a change. However, preferably not to a pencil drawing, but something with color. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 05:38, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think that's probably the reason for this image: you take out line-art and adaptations and there is no image of this character as the main feature. The closest is this. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 18:11, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's rather sad that there's barely any color closeup images, as he's so important to the story. But then again I may be speaking from personal bias. --Holdwine Meriadoc (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 19:13, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I agree with Holdwine's suggestion. Sage 17:53, 23 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Would it be appropriate to upload a cropped version of this image? That would be a nice portrait of Merry. This one is also nice, though it kind of makes him look like a giant. --Pachyderminator 18:19, 23 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I guess it would be a good portrait, but I'd still prefer Holdwine's suggestion. Sage 19:01, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If we had to choose, I'd agree with Holdwine's. But the current one is beautiful and the character is easily recognized at first sight, even for non-readers. So I disagree with changing it or making a cropped version. --LorenzoCB 19:11, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Disagree. Current one is way more detailed. Also shows that he fought with the Rohirrim. I would also like to suggest one if it is changed, Dernhelm by Matt Stewart--Shivam (Talk /Contribs/Edits) 12:57, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Son?[edit source]

Any idea what edition claims Merry had a son? My copy doesn’t include any such mention.--172.69.134.34 08:39, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Great question, you should be able to find this in Appendix B, I've added this reference to the page. --Hyarion 15:15, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
