I've been taught by my horse-loving wife that "pony" is just a name for horses of short stature (at least in Swedish), i.e., not a special race or breed of horses. Is this also valid in English language? And how would it be in Middle-earth? (I'm just curious since I placed this article in Category:Horses). --Morgan 01:41, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You are correct in that pony is a smaller horse (58 inches tall, or fewer, I believe); I imagine we are sticking to Tolkien's usage. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 10:04, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
