Renaming?

This page is titled "Regent of Gondor," but there is at least one other regency mentioned in Numenorean cultural history besides Minalcar Romendacil II of Gondor: Hallatan of Hyarastorni is mentioned as having served as Regent of Númenor while Tar-Aldarion traveled to Middle-earth. Should the title of this page be changed to reflect the expanded topic? Possibly just "Regent." Corsair Caruso 04:22, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Also found mention of Ancalimë serving as Regent. Corsair Caruso 04:22, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think that the references to Aldarion and Ancalimë should be taken out of the article and moved into a new "Regent of Númenor" article. I'm less keen on "Regent" because I sort of think it should be a generic article about the concept of a regent (such as Wikipedia's article). Although obviously this is a difficult one. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 08:55, 10 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You know what, I'll buy that. We don't, after all, have an article titled King just because the office was used by multiple cultures. I do wish there was some way we could indicate the continuity of the office as a Númenorean fixture, persisting through its daughter cultures, but it isn't strictly necessary. A sentence relating the Númenórean office to the Gondorian office, perhaps. Corsair Caruso 02:44, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There is the "See also" section which would be a way of linking to it. Certainly the Gondorian one should reference the Númenórean one at the start of the body of the text. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 07:40, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This still needs resolving: either splitting the article or renaming it. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 10:14, 4 September 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
