- Actually having held the Ring is sufficient enough. Otherwise, Sam would be excluded from this list as well.--BalrogTrainer 05:35, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
Gimli
Gimli did not try to destroy the Ring in the book. Notwithstanding that, it would not make it worthy of this list. Do not add Gimli to this article again. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 17:43, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
- By this logic, shouldn't Boromir also be removed? He merely held the chain to which it was attached. Plus, I don't think he did it in the book anyway. I also don't recall if in the book Gandalf actually briefly touched the Ring as he did in the films. : /--BalrogTrainer 05:35, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
