Thorin is a Dwarf, who's average height is 4 to 5 feet. And yet in the movie trailer for "The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey" the actor is portraying him looks a little taller.Unsigned comment by MattTheRanger (talk • contribs).

Possibly.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  09:45, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The actor portraying him is a lot taller (as, indeed area all the actors)! What I think you mean is that the character of Thorin in the film looks taller than this. I would agree, but, we don't have this confirmed yet. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 23:18, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Height

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Chronicles - Creatures and Characters, a book released by WETA, contains a Character Size Chart and Thorin is said to be 4' 10 1/2" or 1,49 cm. He is the second tallest dwarf after Dwalin. --Sandy 11:55, 16 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

As that's from an adaptation that is not canonical. It could be included in the "Portrayal in adaptations" section, though. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 12:01, 16 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I am not saying that this is canonical. It is a response to MattTheRanger who says that Thorin seems rather tall in the adaptation. However, I have similar information from official Weta books concerning most of the characters from the Hobbit films. Should I add them under "Portrayal in Adaptations"? --Sandy 12:39, 16 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Portrayal in adaptations

Why is there a entry for the trilogy as well as each individual film? --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 15:46, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Obviously the trilogy entry presents generic information while individual entries present plot or specific information. This makes sense, although the generic information could be moved under the entry of the first film, if you think it'd be tidier that way. Sage 17:47, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
As far as I know, we have never done this before for any other character/location/event. Which is why I questioned it as it's not uniform with our current usage. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 18:11, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It seems to be in line with this list. --Amroth 18:41, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Take a look at some other film characters. This is hardly the first time this has been done. I didn't do it for Fíli and Kíli because they're more minor characters. --BalrogTrainer 23:34, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I listed them both on that list merely as options - a trilogy option for general info, and movie option for general info and specifics. However, I never intended it to be used at the same time - it's one or the other. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 23:53, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
