Third Age 2864 (abbreviated to T.A. 2864) is the 2864th year of the Sun of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Third Age 2864 was also known as S.R. 1264 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- Orc raids from the North, which have troubled Rohan for 64 years, end.[1]
- Birth of Kíli, younger son of Dís ,nephew and companion of Thorin II Oakenshield.[2]
- Death of King Folca after chasing the Boar of Everholt.[3]
- Folcwine, son of Folca, becomes the fourteenth King of Rohan.[3]
- Birth of Bingo Baggins, fifth child and third son of Mungo Baggins and Laura Grubb.[4]
- Birth of Fosco Baggins, son of Largo Baggins and Tanta Hornblower.[4]
